A collection of poems & songs written between 2012 and 2021, the book imagines a fictional agency operating within the field of poetry and beyond, within which shadowy figures are deploying a method known as poetic terrorism to wreak havoc upon their competitors, equally so within the ranks of the published as within the ranks of those seeking to become published poets & writers. It’s a psychological war that’s not so fun for the whole family! They’re mostly just poems and ballads though, including a couple of formal sonnets. The original melodies for the ballads are available upon request. The book was one of many rejects in the 2021 Agnes Lynch Starrett Poetry Prize. Congrats to Anuradha Bhowmik and her manuscript Brown Girl Chromatography, forthcoming, The University of Pittsburgh Press, Sept. 2022.
